What to Expect at Practice
Swim and dive practices are where our coaches and athletes work together to improve athlete performance. Coaches expect the athletes to arrive early, so that the practice can begin on time. Many practices begin with a dry land component, which includes exercises to build strength and stamina. Unless the coaches inform the athletes otherwise, swimmers and divers should come prepared with clothing for activities outside and inside the pool.
The practice environment is instructional, supportive, and fun. However, even though this is a recreational summer league team, hard work gets results! The coaches expect the athletes to follow directions, complete the practice sets, and commit to improving.
Please consult the practice schedule on the main page of this section of the website for details on times and dates. If practice is cancelled or postponed due to weather, families will receive e-mail communication about the changes.
Swimmers should come prepared for each practice with a swimsuit, goggles, swim cap, and towel for the portion of the practice that takes place in the water. Kick boards and any other equipment used in the pool will be provided. Divers will only need a swimsuit and towel for diving practice.
Swimmers and divers should also be prepared with athletic shoes, socks, shorts, and a shirt for the dry land component of practice. We encourage swimmers and divers to bring a water bottle to practice each day, as well.
